A team member recently shared an inspiring story with me about Men’s Health Month. Last summer, he saw an FTI wellness flyer that reminded him to schedule his annual physical. Motivated by this simple reminder, he has since made significant strides in improving his health and is continuing to work towards his wellness goals to “get back to the point where I feel my best.” His story shows that wellness reminders and health awareness initiatives can serve as important prompts for all of us to prioritize our well-being.

For years, FTI has been dedicated to addressing a variety of health issues through health awareness months. These months are more than just dates on a calendar — they’re valuable opportunities to learn about specific health topics, empowering us to take proactive steps in managing our overall well-being. By highlighting different health topics throughout the year, we can also encourage preventive care practices. For example, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, we promote regular screenings which can lead to early detection and better outcomes.

A Renewed Focus for 2025

As we step into 2025, we want to provide a renewed focus on fostering healthy habits among our team members that is not just about promoting physical well-being, but also about nurturing mental, emotional and financial health. Healthy habits are the cornerstone of a fulfilling life. For example, January’s focus is on financial wellness. When our finances are in order, we feel less stress. And when we feel less stress, we sleep and eat better. Our Culture of Care extends beyond the workplace, and recognizes that financial, physical, mental and emotional health are interconnected. By promoting healthy habits, we support our team members in all aspects of their lives.

Rewards for Taking Action

Awareness months can be a great jump start to adopt healthier lifestyles. Whether it’s learning about how to save for retirement during Financial Wellness Month, taking a moment to pause and reflect during Mental Health Month or participating in a fitness challenge during Heart Health Month, these initiatives can inspire lasting positive changes. Using the “Share the Good” feature on our FTI team member app is also a great way for our team members to connect and inspire each other. Anyone who participates in the health awareness months receives points towards our Personify Health wellness program, which can be redeemed for various rewards.
