The United States Senate officially declared Wednesday, October 2, as Energy Efficiency Day. Each year on the first Wednesday of October, individuals and organizations are encouraged to consider their energy use and find ways to incorporate efficiency and sustainability every day of the year.
At FTI, we’re on a mission to support our customers with their energy efficiency goals, incorporating a Path to Smarter Energy™ that takes into account energy use assessment and conservation, leading to energy generation and storage. Our partners are able to save energy and save money, while contributing to a healthier climate.
We also realize the importance of ‘walking the talk’ of energy efficiency and have taken numerous steps toward our own energy goals. One of the most direct ways is by converting our vehicle fleet to electric vehicles (EVs). Since 2022, FTI has been reviewing the driving routes of our vehicles and systematically moving to EVs based on transportation routes and schedules. To date, 39 of our fleet vehicles are electric. Over the past 12 months, these EVs have been driven more than 250,000 miles by FTI team members across the country. Removing these miles from gas-powered vehicles has saved over 112 tons of CO2 emissions.
FTI also continues to invest in clean EV charging technologies. Our EV charging depot in east central Wisconsin is powered completely by solar energy and battery storage, offering not only energy efficiency but independence from the energy grid.
