At the close of each year, it’s common to look back at the things we experienced, the good and not so good, and vow to either continue on a positive path or make some resolutions to do things differently in the new year.
At FTI, we’ve done more than the usual amount looking back in 2022, as we celebrated our 50th anniversary. It’s been fun to look at our history and reflect on the people who’ve contributed to our organization, the challenges we’ve faced together and the successes we’ve realized. From a local electrical contractor in 1972, to a national leader in construction, manufacturing and energy today, we’ve been paving the way in providing advancing technology solutions to our customers.
We also don’t want to lose sight of some of the most notable achievements that the year 2022 brought. Across our organization, our teams demonstrated our innovative spirit, and together we shared in numerous successes.
Our Faith Technologies division was honored as a top-performing U.S. construction company by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), ranking number 11 nationally for our results in safety and quality. Individual project awards were also received from ABC of Wisconsin, as well as the Associated General Contractors (AGC) organization, recognizing our team members’ commitment to high-quality, safe and productive work.
EnTech Solutions continued providing customers with a Path to Smarter Energy, meeting them where they are in their energy journeys and providing comprehensive solutions to support their energy needs today and their goals for the future. As the electric vehicle (EV) market continues to grow exponentially, EnTech Solutions has partnered with several automotive and fleet manufacturers to support the rapidly expanding need for EV charging infrastructure nationwide, while simultaneously introducing EVs into our own vehicle fleet.
Our Excellerate division continues to support the growing energy needs of numerous large data center customers, as well as providing electrical assemblies and custom engineering for partners across the country. Our teams in Kansas and Wisconsin continue to innovate and grow, and we were excited to break ground on a new 385,000-square-foot smart manufacturing facility in Little Chute, WI, this fall. With a planned operational date of Fall 2023, this site is poised to achieve a net-zero carbon footprint in the future and bring 200 new jobs to the region.
A fitting example of our unified FTI brand with three strong divisions was the opening of our Lakeside Vision Center in northeast Wisconsin this summer. This completely off-grid facility allows us to demonstrate our energy capabilities to our customers and partners with an interactive experience area demonstrating microgrid technologies and eMobility charging solutions. Lakeside has been a true collaborative effort of our Faith, EnTech and Excellerate divisions, continuing to Redefine What’s Possible in the electrical, energy and manufacturing spaces.
Regardless of the environments we’re in, our team members continue to uphold our Uncompromised Focus on Keeping People Safe. This was evident in our first-place recognition in the specialty contractors division of the national AGC Construction Safety Excellence Award. We’re closing the year with a Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) of 0.07, compared to a national average of 2.70. Our Excellerate facilities continue to demonstrate the value of off-site work in controlled environments and have gone more than 1,450 days without a single recordable injury.
Just over a year since we rolled out our Culture of Care, FTI continues to focus on the total well being of our team members – body, mind and soul. More than 90% of team members have taken advantage of our monthly two-hour Recharge hours to focus on their holistic health, for everything from medical appointments to completing errands, caring for members of their families or enjoying personal time to relax or reinvigorate. We were proud to be recognized with multiple wellness awards over the year, including being named to the 2022 Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America. FTI was also honored to be awarded the 2022 Platinum Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health from Mental Health America (MHA), recognizing employers who strive to create mentally healthy workplaces for their team members.
In 2022, we truly have celebrated 50 years of World-Class Opportunities to Succeed, thanks to our team members, customers and partners. We can’t wait to see what the next 50 years bring!
