In today’s fast-paced and competitive business environment, the well-being of employees is more critical than ever. As companies strive to attract and retain top talent, offering wellness perks has emerged as a strategic investment that adds significant value both to employees and the organization as a whole.
FTI has entered its 20th year prioritizing the health and well-being of team members and their families. Creating a wellness program that stands out from the rest requires a unique approach and thoughtful planning. Our personalized wellness program is based on individual needs and goals. Everyone’s health journey is a personal one; no two people start from the same place or have the same wants, needs or goals for their health and well-being. That’s why personalization matters.
Offering a wellness program allows organizations to demonstrate that they value their employees as individuals, not just as workers. Ultimately, the decision is up to the employee on how they want to take care of their own health. However, by offering a supportive workplace environment, prevention-focused health education and an array of support resources focused on holistic well-being, we can equip team members when and where they need it.
As our award-winning wellness program continues to evolve each year based on employee needs and direct employee feedback, we’ve been able to offer some unique offerings that team members appreciate.
- Healthy Lifestyle Reimbursement – Offering reimbursements for wellness-related expenses such as gym memberships, exercise equipment, wearable fitness devices, healthy cooking assistance, weight management programs, foot orthotics, sit/stand workstations, nature preserve memberships, inversion tables or massages can support employees’ wellness goals. FTI offers team members and their families up to $300 per year to use toward these various wellness expenses. Helping offset wellness-related costs encourages healthy behaviors while providing financial support.
- Time to Recharge – Paid time off for team members to focus on their well-being. FTI offers two hours of paid time off each month to use toward self-care, training and/or professional health services. Since introducing this benefit in 2021, 92% of FTI team members have taken advantage of this time, with nearly 100,000 hours used! Team members continue to share their appreciation for this benefit in order to take some time for themselves, be present with their loved ones or simply to catch up on life’s day-to-day busyness!
- Mental Health Assistance – Offering free and easy access to counseling services and mental health resources is essential. Mental and physical well-being go hand in hand; you can’t have one without the other. Ensuring our team members feel supported and safe asking for help is important. We want to make it as easy and convenient as possible for employees and their family members to access care as soon as they need it. It’s also essential for employees to be trained in mental health warning signs and know how to refer their peers to appropriate mental health solutions.
- Well-Being Platform – Using a well-being platform that focuses on personalization and holistic well-being solutions while also offering gamification elements helps make wellness programs more engaging. FTI offers a points-based program, available via an online platform or mobile app, that makes it easy for team members and their spouses to participate in the wellness activities that are important to them, all while earning cash incentives or a discount on their health insurance premiums. Offering challenges through this platform also creates some friendly competition among peers!
- Biometric Health Screenings & Assessments – These screenings allow team members to monitor their health and make informed decisions about their health and wellness. Biometric health screenings provide vital information about overall health including cholesterol, triglycerides, cardiac risk, glucose, blood pressure and Body Mass Index (BMI). FTI offers team members and their spouses four ways to complete a screening, making it as easy and convenient as possible. Bringing screenings onsite to office locations or jobsites is one of the most convenient ways for individuals to participate without taking much time out of their day.
By investing in employee well-being, organizations can improve health outcomes, enhance the employee experience and gain a competitive edge in the market. Wellness programs are not an added expense but rather are a valuable investment that pays dividends in terms of employee satisfaction, productivity and overall business success.
