Zero6 Energy and Faith Technologies Incorporated partner to develop and install electric vehicle infrastructure across the U.S.
CHANHASSEN, Minn. — Zero6 Energy, a leader in clean energy development and investment, is partnering with Faith Technologies Incorporated (FTI), a leader in energy construction, engineering and manufacturing, to design, develop and install electric vehicle (EV) charging sites in California and Wisconsin. This work is a result of two National Electrical Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) funding awards:
- $14.4 million from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and California Energy Commission (CEC) in California’s first round of National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) funding.
- $879,169 from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) and Wisconsin Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (WEVI) through Wisconsin’s first round of National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) funding.
Zero6 Energy will finance, own and operate the charging stations. FTI will design, develop and install the charging stations integrating ChargePoint® hardware and software. FTI’s national network of service technicians will also maintain and optimize the charging stations after installation to ensure uptime and advance consumer confidence.
“Zero6 and our partners at FTI are building out an EV fast-charging network that offers drivers high-quality service and helps alleviate range anxiety,” said Clay Norrbom, president of Zero6 Energy. “Our companies have worked together for a decade building and investing in wind, solar and other clean energy generation. This project represents a large step forward in our latest initiative around EV charging infrastructure.”
In California, EV chargers will be located on at least 26 sites within three of the major corridors in the state, mostly at fueling stations and quick-serve restaurants. In Wisconsin, a four-port EV charging station will be located at Culver’s restaurant in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, along a state-designated fuel corridor.
“FTI is proud to be a leader in providing EV charging infrastructure and maintenance to improve charging access and experience across the nation, including our home state of Wisconsin,” said Wade Leipold, FTI executive vice president. “As individuals and organizations move to EVs in support of environmental goals, ensuring readily available charging is critical.”
Depending on site logistics, many of these locations will be perfect fits for FTI’s eSkid™ charging solutions. These skids are built off-site and designed to be set into place, offering consistency to site hosts while minimizing site disruption.
Engineering and design of the sites is already underway with plans to complete many of the installations in 2025, including the Wisconsin Culver’s site. NEVI guidelines require that all awarded sites be completed within five years.
