Overview: Green Bay Entertainment Center Expansion
FTI was selected as the electrical contractor for the Resch Expo redevelopment project in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The new $93 million expo was designed to replace an existing arena facility located next to Lambeau Field and features over 120,000 square feet of event space that connects to the existing Resch Center.
The project broke ground in late summer of 2019 and finished in early January of 2021. FTI completed plan-spec electrical work for the project, including installation of lighting, floor boxes, access controls, CCTV cameras, fire alarm systems, computer network systems, paging systems and monitors.
Challenge: Limited Space, Special Scheduling Requirements
The intricacies of the system upgrades, along with the close proximity of existing buildings, presented numerous challenges. Project work and material shipments were placed on hold during events at Lambeau Field, placing stress on scheduling and requiring a significant amount of additional coordination and planning.
Solution: One FTI Approach, Building Information Modeling (BIM)
The project team leveraged FTI’s solutions, preconstruction and Excellerate® teams to maximize planning and preparation, maintain tight deadlines and reduce project costs. Building information modeling (BIM) was also utilized to enhance efficiency, accuracy and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
